Major Health Agencies Head to Milton Keynes for Forum
As health concerns and disparities reflect adversely on the Caribbean and African Community (CAC), FRIENDS OF THE CARIBBEAN (FOTC), a local charity, has taken up the challenge to make positive impacts in the Milton Keynes community. They will be hosting their second annual health awareness forum for 2016.
Forum agenda will focus on barriers to care and other disparities affecting CAC patients, as well as clinical take-aways. An awareness-building seminar will address the question “How do I keep well?” and attendees will learn how to make positive changes from a professional health panel including: Prostate Cancer UK, NHS, British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK.
Errol Russell – FOTC board member who participated in last year’s forum said: “The forum was both fun and educational. It covered CAC health concerns, eating well and a mobile diabetes testing centre.” The event which drew more than 100 adults and children, including the Jamaican High Commissioner, Aloun Ndombet–Assamba was a success.
